American rapper and entrepreneur is on a mission to restore his relationship with Mzansi by organising a concert that will see multi-award-winning rapper Drake have his first live performance in the country in 2025.

Gregory is no stranger to South African locals. This comes as it was his company that was responsible for bringing Nigerian rapper rapper Burna Boy to South African soil in 2023.

Unfortunately, things went south for him and his business partner Abraham Radebe and the highly expected concert did not come to fruition, leaving thousands of fans furious.

As per report by the news and entertainment publication TshisaLive, Gregory’s aim is to correct his past doings and now has plans to get the Headlines hitmaker to perform in South Africa.

It is reported that the Canadian rapper has been in the country for a brief stint when he filmed the music video of his song Controlla, but has never performed live at a concert.

Speaking on the topic to the above-mentioned publication, Gregory said the following:

“Bringing Drake to South Africa for his first stadium show is not just about the music; it’s about celebrating a pivotal moment in black history.”

According to him, the event will be titled, “The Freedom Show” and will commemorate 30 years since the abolishment of apartheid.

Gregory says that he has learnt from his past failures and that plans are in place to ensure that things a properly organised this time around.

“This time I’ve taken every precaution to ensure that this event is executed flawlessly. I’ve spent the last year immersing myself in the culture and building relationships within the South African entertainment industry.”
