Mzansi’s renowned football club Kaizer Chiefs is now again finding something to be proud of – this time it is not for their performance on the pitch, but rather things that are taking place off it.
This comes after the club’s strength and conditioning coach Muzi Maluleke made headlines after finishing first in the 212lb weight category at the Europa Pro bodybuilding championship in London – the win also secured him a spot to compete at the Mr Olympia bodybuilding competition.
The event is one that has been sanctioned by the International Fitness and Bodybuilding Federation and was first held in 1965, according to online publication Britannica.
Over the years athletes from all over the world have come to compete in this competition with one of its most recognised winners being renowned actor Arnold Schwarzenegger who won the top title seven times.
Meanwhile, Muzi became the first South African to qualify in this category.
Taking to social media he expressed his excitement.
“Thank you so much sir, Federico Focherini. For being more than just a coach… uMadala wami… this one is for you, like you always say, silence is solidarity.”
