During a lively afternoon out, where friends were enjoying drinks and having a great time, a minor hiccup threatened to disrupt their fun—a phone. Rather than letting this mishap spoil their day, the group quickly turned to an old trick: placing the phone in a bag of rice, a well-known trick for fixing water-damaged devices.

TikTok user @tamiapeterson dropped a video that quickly captured the internet’s attention. The clip shows two ladies performing a trick: placing a phone into a small bag of rice.

The response from viewers has been both entertaining and informative. Many found the video hilarious, with comments pouring in from those who shared their own experiences and confirmed the trick is working.

One user commented and said: ” It works. My daughter’s phone fell in the water and I told her to shake it off and then put it in rice.”

Another user said laughing, ” Who said there is a person who is fixing a phone on the rice.”

Another added laughing, “So what happened after about this small tastic rice?”

When asked if the trick worked, the original poster confirmed that it did.

This isn’t the first time rice has been used to save a phone. TikTok user @kyran tested the trick by submerging his phone in water for a few minutes before placing it in a container filled with rice to see if it would work.
