Popular content creator Mihlali Ndamase’s personal life has become what her supporters describe as a ‘pr nightmare’ as the influencer continues to find herself amid controversy.

The YouTuber has recently made headlines multiple times, concerning the controversy she seems to have with her ex-lover Leeroy Sidambe. In a heated Instagram Live session, Mihlali expressed her frustrations concerning Leeroy, stating that he needed to explain which substances he was referring to when he told the public that Mihlali is usually under the influence of substances he cannot name.

Internet users quickly took to their social media to denounce Mihlali for using homophobic slurs during that live session as the influencer referred to Leeroy as a ‘double adaptor’ and ‘After nine’, words associated with homophobia.

Taking to her Instagram, Mihlali issued a public apology to members of the LGBTQIA+ community for the insensitivity she displayed, stating that she had no malicious intent with her rant. She also acknowledged the fact that a significant portion of her following and supporters are members of the LGBTQIA+ community, taking the opportunity to thank them for their unrelenting support.

However, it seems, users are not buying the sincerity of Mihlali’s apology as they believe she only apologised to soften the blow and garner support when she posts her collaboration with Fenty Beauty.

Some users believe that this video, posted by a popular TikTok entertainment commentator was what triggered the apology from the content creator.

Some users have even suggested that Mihlali take a hiatus, as it would serve her and her mental health well, and will allow her to come back stronger.

I need Mihlali Ndamase to take a 3 month hiatus👍🏾 https://t.co/9apK0kRZqF
