Whoever said the hip-hop scene in South Africa was dead spoke too soon, as the lyrical face-off between hip-hop giants Big Zulu and Duncan is well underway, with tensions rising and extending to the artist’s respective fanbase.

A controversy that was ignited by a diss track called ‘150 Bars‘ released by Big Zulu in 2022 has now escalated into what seems like a beef between rappers Big Zulu, Emtee and Duncan. The diss track contained some jabs that many believed were aimed at Emtee and Duncan, which has caused conflict among the rappers.

Big Zulu’s latest offering, which he named ‘200 Bars‘ has caused a frenzy once again as the diss track is not without some jabs and Emtee has decided he will not go down without a fight.

Taking to his social media, the ‘Roll-up‘ hit-maker made it known that he is not impressed with Big Zulu’s offering. He responded to a post that posed the question “So between Duncan and Big Zulu, who’s the real champ in this beef? Both went hard, but who’s your winner?” the rapper responded and stated that he believed that both songs were not up to his standard.

Emtee took things further and quoted a post made by the ‘Imali Eningi‘ hit-maker, making it known that he has no regard or respect for the rapper. He also expressed how he believes Big Zulu has no talent, and that he is not a good human being.

The good news is that Emtee has expressed that his fellow rappers are not his focus at the moment, contrarily, his sights are set on his own endeavours, which include the release of his highly-anticipated album. He let his fans know that they can expect real music from him, unlike Big Zulu.

Ion wake up thinking bout no Big Zulu. The fuck!? I’m dropping soon. Real music. Not lamasiba
