The Adulting star Lungile Duma recently opened up about how a simple lunch at a restaurant led to a lifelong romance with her now-husband Thusang Mahlangu a prominent business figure.
In an interview with SowetanLive, Lungile and her husband Thusang shared the charming details of how their love story began in an unexpected yet memorable way.
The story begins in early January 2023. Thusang had a routine of grabbing takeout and heading back to the office for lunch. But on that particular day, he decided to sit down at Kauai in Rosebank. As he enjoyed his meal, a woman entered the restaurant, and their eyes met. Thusang was struck by an instant connection and thought to himself, “This woman is going to be my wife.”
Meanwhile, Lungile was coming from an audition and indulging in some window shopping at Rosebank Mall, decided to have a meal at Kauai. Despite her initial plans for a quick stop, her visit took an unexpected turn when Thusang approached her.
Lungile recalls, “He asked if he could introduce himself, but he could see I wasn’t interested — all I wanted to do was wait for my food. After my food arrived, he asked to sit with me and I agreed because of his manners. I thought he was going to sell me insurance, but the minute we started talking, I realised he cared about getting to know me instead of complimenting me on my looks — that stood out for me.”
They dated for a year, and in December of that year, Thusang asked for Lungile’s hand in marriage. Thusang proposed to her a week before their wedding, which was on May 25.
