DSTV Content Creator Awards reveal this years nominees

The DSTV Content Creator Awards are an awards show whose main aim is to “shine a light on people who make us feel good,” according to their website. The One-Eyed Jack marketing agency founded the event aimed to show appreciation to those who are otherwise often overlooked.

“These awards were created and exist to create an ecosystem for creators to learn how to monetise their content and get recognised for brand work and essentially to create a place for creators to be within South Africa,” explains One-Eyed Cactus Managing Director and DSTV Content Creator Awards Founder Manuela Dias de Deus.

After hosting two successful events in 2023 and 2023, this year, the awards show kicked things off with a nominee announcement party hosted at the Radisson Red Rosebank, where some of the nominees were in attendance.

This year, the awards show will be partnering with organisations such as DSTV, 947, Lyft, One-Eyed Jack and a few media organisations to bring the public this year’s edition of what promises to be a “glamorous black-tie event for the best content creators on the continent.”

They have also brought about a few changes with the focus of the categories shifting from a specific piece of content to focusing on the creator at large. Furthermore, nominees can enter more than one category, as long as they feel it applies to them.

The awards show took to its Instagram to announce the nominees for this year’s edition and these are some of the exciting nominations worth noting:

The Cause Award

“Meet the nominees for the Cause Award, a category that honours creators making a difference; whether they’re sharing important messages or advocating for change, they’re using their platforms for good.”
