Award-winning sports broadcaster and SuperSport TV anchor Motshidisi Mohono, who has been unofficially dubbed as the people’s sports crush has announced that she is pregnant.

Sharing the news with her followers, she posted an image from what seems to be her maternity photoshoot with the caption “Modimo, kea leboha” which translates to “God, I thank you.”

Mosthdisi also took to her X (formerly Twitter) with a heartwarming moment where she quoted a tweet she had posted last year in August in which she said “I can’t wait to be a mom,” with the same image she shared on Instagram.

Although some supporters and fellow prominent figures such as Springbok player Ox Nche and Carol Tshabalala took the time to wish Motshidiso well and congratulate her, the comments section was rather filled with disappointment. Being the people’s sports crush is a duty the people take very seriously and Motshidiso’s pregnancy announcement has compromised her position.

Internet users wasted no time quoting and responding to the announcement, and this is what they had to say:

Objection your honour! https://t.co/7K7zYmzJQE

While some found creative ways to express their disappointment.

“I can still shoot my shot though right ?” one user asks in desperation.
