A 25-year-old woman shared a birthday picnic she prepared for her 13-year-old foster child who has a one-year-old daughter on her social media platform, attracting a lot of comments from internet users.

The foster mother Tusaiwe Yana is the founder of a charity organisation called YANA (you are not alone). Her charity organisation is aimed at helping people who are facing life challenges.

These include kids who are from abusive homes, kids who are young parents due to rape or forced marriages, orphans and many others.

The founder is in the process of finishing building a school and hostels for the kids as her classes have gotten bigger. She also has houses where her kids live and is busy with teacher’s quarters.

Sharing a video of herself preparing for a birthday surprise picnic which she planned for her 13-year-old mother-of-one with her granddaughter at their local dam, Tusaiwe detailed, “Today was my daughter’s birthday, she has just turned 13 years old. She also has a daughter who has turned one year old. I decided to do this to make it a memorable day for them. For myself, I got pregnant at the age of 16 and gave birth to my son at the age of 17. I’ve always wanted to support young single mothers like myself because I understand how hard it is to be a single mother, how hard it is to be a young mother, and how hard it is to drop out of school. How hard it is to do everything when you’re just alone.”

The foster mom added that her daughter is now back in primary school doing grade four.

Internet users took time to comment on the user’s feed.

“13 years old with a 1-year-old child??? My god,” said a user.

Another user shared, “She really is a baby with a baby, you’re literally an angel on earth being there for these kids who were forced into being adults too soon.”

“Happy birthday to her but such a sad story because she is still just a child herself and yet having to raise a child too,” added one user.
