Lotto player wins R59m Powerball draw through banking app

A lucky player in South Africa won R59 million from the Friday PowerBall draw, purchasing the winning ticket via the Standard Bank banking app.

The PowerBall Plus draw was rolled over to Tuesday with an estimated jackpot of R12 million, the National Lottery Ithuba said.

Sharing this news on their X, former Twitter app, the national lottery commented:

Congratulations to the lucky #PowerBall jackpot Multi-Millionaire winner who bagged over R59 million from the 12/07/24 draw!!! Will you be the next multi-millionaire??? Play #PowerBall & #PowerBallPLUS for R12 MILLION in total estimated jackpots this Tuesday and find out!”

Over the weekend, 10 other lottery players also won various amounts ahead of an interest rate announcement.

Additionally, the Daily Lotto had multiple winners, including a R450,000 jackpot estimated for Monday’s draw.
