Lawrence Maleka makes Netflix debut in ‘Lobola Man’

Lawrence Maleka, an award-winning actor has made his debut in the new Netflix romantic comedy film, “Lobola Man” which marks an exciting addition to his career.

He shares the screen alongside actors, Kwanele Mthethwa, Sandile Mahlangu, Nimrod Nkosi, Thembisile Matu, and more.

According to the news publication The South African, in “Lobola Man”, Lawrence plays the role of a smooth-talker and family wooer, Ace Ngubeni, a successful lobola negotiator. His role in the film promises to showcase his talents in a new light as his last appearance was on “The River” where he portrayed a character that was on the flip side of the current romantic film.

“This would be an excellent time to do something different and test my limits and what I can and cannot do. Also, I test the market; what they will accept of me and what they won’t,” the actor stated as reported on the news publication IOL.

IOL further added that among his many other talents, the actor has graced us on the Big Brother Mzansi screen as the host for season 4, and SABC1’s “Too Hot To Be Single.”
