SABC 2’s drama series Muvhango recently announced on its social media platforms that it has reached the end of the road, leaving many viewers in shock.

The drama series was created by veteran producer Duma ka Ndlovu airing its first episode on the 7th of April, 1997.

Muvhango has been hailed by many for its advocacy for the Venda language and culture in the media world, as many South Africans stayed glued to their screens every weekday to watch the multi-cultural series.

In a bid to take the drama series lovers down memory lane, the series announced that it was to air its first episode.

Taking to X (former Twitter) the Muvhango team shared a post that read:

“30 YEARS OF DEMOCRACY WITH MUVHANGO  In celebration of 30 Years of Democracy, we are taking you way way back to where everything began. Tune in to the 1st ever episode of Muvhango. Tonight at 21:00 on #SABC2SiLaFamilia.”
