Former Muvhango actress Phindile Gwala-Ngandu has clarified the situation after online users claimed that she had been inaugurated as a member of parliament.
As per reports by entertainment publication, ZiMoja, the online publication MDN News alleged that the actress had been sworn in as the MK (uMkhonto Wesizwe) member of parliament during the ceremony in Cape Town.
Speaking to the entertainment publication, her publicist Thanduxolo Jindela stated the actress is not a member of parliament but was accompanying her spiritual mother, Bishop Nokwethemba Mtsweni.
She said, “We would like to clarify recent speculations and assumptions. Actress Phindile Gwala accompanied Bishop Nokwethemba Mtshweni, a member of the MK Party, close friend and spiritual mother, to a swearing-in ceremony as a gesture of support. However, it has come to our attention that some individuals have misconstrued this as her swearing-in as a member of parliament.”
Although the news were not factual X users felt that the online publication did not fact-check before posting on the app.

Izinduna, Chiefs, Artists, Legal Minds, Business people, Different races from MK will be sworn in.
I am so happy to see Andile Mgxitama , Indeed it is not over until God says it is over.
I have my reservations on Phindile Gwala but maybe she worked behind the scenes
