A video of Owami Mafokate, daughter of record label owner and businessman Arthur performing at an event hosted in celebration of the president’s inauguration caused a lot of stir on social media platforms, with many commenting that her father had plugged her with the DJing gig.

Owami has been a DJ for many years, following in the footsteps of her big brother Arthur Junior also known as AJ, it is no shock that she books many prestigious gigs in and out of the country.

What concerned people is about Owami’s ANC gigs is that her father has for many years been alleged to a beneficiary of ANC tender as he has performed with many artists under his stable at most ANC events over the years. Speculations started circulating that he may be buddies with top ANC officials.

Arthur’s name is also on the list of public figures who are beneficiaries of the alleged corruption and maladministration at the National Lotteries Commission.

Seeing the video of the young DJ who is also on a new reality show series Born Into Fame internet users rushed to the comment section to comment that her father’s ANC connections were going well for the young entertainer.

The video was posted by controversial blogger Musa Khawula on his X (former Twitter) platform.

Its so unfortunate that all her talents will be shadowed by her dad’s. She is indeed talented and very good at what she is doing. You go girl.
