Vusi Nova dismisses rumours of Zahara’s furniture being sold

by Zintle Mdaka

With recent reports of the late afro pop singer, Bulelwa ‘Zahara’ Mkutukana’s family selling her estate to the highest bidder, to cover bond costs; Afro pop singer, Vusi Nova, who was a friend to Zahara has recently rejected those claims.

Sunday World recently revealed that the luxury furniture of the Loliwe hitmaker was on sale, and that the family has allegedly been circulating pictures of her household items on WhatsApp with price tags.

Refuting those claims, Vusi told TshisaLIVE that he is part of Zahara’s family and would continue to assist in whatever way he could.

“It is untrue that the family is selling the furniture and awards. I mean who will buy those family treasures and how will they be sold? No. People must respect her and let her rest in peace,” he said.

The Thandiwe singer confirmed to the publication that the home had to be sold.

“It’s difficult, but it’s what it is. With regards to the house, we tried to keep it but it was costly just to maintain it and so we just had to let it go. Our relationship is day-to-day, I’m always there for them. I’ve been assisting them and will continue doing that,” Vusi said.

According to ZiMoja, a source close to the situation revealed to them that the sisters of the late singer, including Lumka Mkutukana wanted to spite the owners by leaving the property in disarray, intending to frustrate the new occupants.

“They even attempted to break the cupboards but were stopped by someone close to them,” a source revealed.

Zahara passed away at a private hospital in Johannesburg on the 11th of December 2023 after weeks of Intensive care unit.
