American actor and producer Glen Powell and Margaret Qualley are starring in the upcoming film Huntington, currently being shot in Cape Town.

Glen has been sharing his South African experiences on Instagram, including a recent post showing a group dining at a Cape Town restaurant. He was also seen at Muizenberg Beach with other cast members.

English actor Raff Law, another star of the film, posted a series of photos from Cape Town with the caption, “Lekker few weeks my bro.”

Huntington is a comedic thriller written and directed by John Patton Ford, loosely based on Kind Hearts and Coronets by Robert Hamer and John Dighton.

The cast also includes Ed Harris, Jessica Henwick and Zach Woods.

According to Deadline,  the film is a “raucous revenge thriller about Becket Redfellow (played by Glen), the heir to a multi-billion-dollar fortune who will stop at nothing to get what he thinks he deserves.”

The production has engaged around 305 local crew members, 45 local cast members, and 1 876 extras, with a current spending total of R146 901 737 in South Africa.

A memo from StudioCanal highlighted that shooting in Cape Town has allowed the script to remain unchanged and aligned with the director’s vision, offering benefits such as set building, scale, travel time, crew availability and minimal time zone difference.

The memo praised South Africa’s diverse locations and skilled crew, noting positive feedback from other international productions filmed there, like The Mauritanian and Beast.

The film is being distributed by A24, known for critically acclaimed films such as Hereditary, Midsommar, Moonlight and Ladybird.
