WATCH: Teacher challenges learners to a dance off in front of the whole school

Gone are the days when learners were scared of teachers and unable to dance, play and joke with them as the school environment was a bit formal. The cause of this could be that, as the years passed, a younger generation showed interest in the teaching field, resulting in a new generation of much younger teachers.

Gagasi FM broadcasters Minnie Ntuli and Felix Hlophe of the Uprising team visited one of the schools in KZN to celebrate their outstanding matriculants results for the class of 2023 which came out in January this year.

Besides broadcasting at the school, Minnie took to the centre stage, standing in front of both teachers and learners showing off her dance moves. She later challenged learners to join her, with one confident learner volunteering to go on the dance battle with her.

The learner went on to challenge one of the teachers named Thembakazi Mnguni who gladly rose to the occasion. The teacher did not disappoint as she got the crowd made up of both teachers and learners cheering.

The video was shared on the popular social media platform TikTok by the teacher Thembakazi Mnguni a while ago, it recently re-surfaced getting good comments from many social media users who shared that the reason the school has a high pass rate is because of the relationship the teachers has with them, their flexibility and how they are interested in things learners like.

Internet users had this to say after seeing the video:

“No wonder our matriculants are doing so well HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT at school happy kids Positive minds.”

“New age teachers… We are everything and we own it… We are shifting the paradigm,” commented one teacher.

One user who notices the way teachers are flexible commented, “Bo (the) teacher ba (of) nowadays ba (are) happy I love the spirit, wish all teachers can b like this, kids will go to school even on Saturday.”

“I wish I could have a teacher like you when I was at school.”
