Sizok’thola presenter Xolani Maphanga arrested in a case of mistaken identity

by Sergio Miller

It appears the drug-busting reality show Sizok’thola has made a big mistake replacing their former presenter Xolani Khumalo with his successor with the same name, Xolani Maphanga.

This comes after comes after police recently arrested the latter for charges allegedly committed by his predecessor Xolani Khumalo.

Khumalo who was the former presenter of the popular program has become very well acquainted with the police in recent times, this comes after the television personality was implicated in the murder of a drug lord Robert “kicks” Varrie. Robert was allegedly found dead shortly after Xolani and his crew cornered and interrogated him at his Katlehong home.

In addition to this Zimoja has reported that Khumalo allegedly shot a man in the arm with a hand rifle in January this year.

With both Xolani’s having been presenters on the same show and driving similar cars, police unfortunately got hold of Maphanga who was later arrested.

In conversation with the publication, Maphanga confirmed the news stating: “The incident where I was arrested on charges of attempted murder has happened, however, the charges were later dropped because they had mistaken me for Xolani Khumalo.”

He explained that he was disappointed in Khumalo because even though he knew about the arrest, he never reached out.

“We have known one another for years and he is supposed to explain what is really happening,” he said.

Meanwhile, he added police informed him that Xolani has gone to the police station in Thembisa.
