The death of the South African rapper Kiernan Forbes popularly known as AKA affected many artists in the Hip Hop industry. Every now and then these artists continue to remember him for his good work while expressing how much they miss him.

AKA was gunned down in Durban last year February while exiting the Wish restaurant in Florida road. He visited the city to perform at a gig.

Recently, one of the Hip Hop artists Emtee (born Mthembeni Ndevu) remembered him as an idol and icon.

Taking to Instagram, the We Up hitmaker shared a picture of the late rapper whilst he added their song Crown which was in AKA’s last album Mass Country. In his caption he wrote, “An idol. An icon. A father. The only nigga who ever gave Big Hustle pressure and nervous in the studio.”

Fans and supporters shared how much they loved the relationship between the two artists:

“I remember the day this song was recorded. Two geniuses on one song.”

“And that’s my favourite song in the Mass country album,” wrote another user referring to AKA and Emtee’s song that is playing on the post.

Another user said: “The love and respect between you and AKA is the whole inspiration that teaches people that it’s not always about rivalry but humanity and respect also.”

“That’s why you two will remain my favourite rappers of all time [red heart emoji],” they added.
