South African actress and television presenter, Nomsa Buthelezi, recently spoke out about the challenges she faces both professionally and personally.

In a video on TikTok, Nomsa bared her soul, shining a light on the discrimination she has endured as a lesbian and its impact on her career.

She revealed the heartbreaking reality of lost job opportunities within the entertainment industry, attributing these setbacks to people spreading falsehoods about her behind her back, thus tarnishing her reputation.

Nomsa courageously addressed the pervasive issue of discrimination against her sexuality, highlighting the societal stigma she faces.

“Some hated me for my sexuality, being a lesbian in South Africa is very tough. You lose jobs…you lose gigs.”

Through her emotional testimony, she bravely shared her experiences of mistreatment, alleging that individuals within the industry exploited her knowledge and took advantage of her.

Social media users responded to her experience saying:

“South Africa stand up and support our sister in her next projects. Your light shines bright sisi. The Lord knows your heart, you shall be victorious.”

Another social media user praised her talent by saying, “You are the reason I watched that wedding show. The way you are with people is amazing and you deserve to have it all.”
