Affordable Valentine’s Day gifts for your partner

With only a few days left until Valentine’s Day, couples are feeling the pressure to find the perfect romantic gift for their significant other. If you’re not familiar with your partner’s likes and dislikes, selecting a present can be quite challenging. Giving someone a thoughtful and memorable gift is crucial but also requires careful consideration.

Romance on a budget is important as you want to save money but also make your significant other feel important.

The following are six affordable Valentine’s Day suggestions for your partner, as suggested by Evolve Day Spa:

  1. DIY: Make a personalised Valentine’s Day present by decorating wooden coasters with your initials or a message, demonstrating your thoughtfulness.
  2. Personalised gifts: Consider personalising jewellery, photo albums, and daily goods such as coffee mugs and keychains. Engraving their name or initials, or making a scrapbook of wonderful occurrences, may demonstrate affection and attention. Adding a personalised touch will remind your lover of you every time they use them.
  3. Gift hampers: Create a Valentine’s Day gift basket by mixing a range of treasured products such as beverages, food, apparel, lingerie, toiletries, stationery sets, periodicals, or hobby-related goods into a cost-effective container from a thrift shop.
  4.  Gift vouchers: Gift cards may express gratitude while also providing a new opportunity to spend time together.
  5. Picnic dinner: On Valentine’s Day, try a romantic candlelit picnic or supper at home, such as at Zoo Lake, or Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens, as restaurants may be crowded or costly.
  6. Plants instead of roses: While roses are beautiful and have come to symbolise this day, the prices do shoot up and the flowers won’t last. Instead of breaking your budget on a bunch of roses, pick a long-lasting indoor plant that will add vibrant freshness to your home.
