After sustaining injuries during a shoot-out at Tempo nightclub in Sandton, Johannesburg, businessman and Londie London’s ex, Sphamandla Mabonga, now faces a few charges of his own, including murder.

According to the publication Sunday World, Sphamandla allegedly found himself in a verbal altercation with the club’s security personnel after they turned him away after he was refused entry into the building with a firearm. This then resulted in the shoot-out.

The businessman was then admitted to Mediclinic Morningside after sustaining four gunshot wounds to the hand, abdomen, and ribs, says Sunday World.

The publication Maphepha Ndaba shared a clip of patrons having to duck for cover inside the club after the shooting.

Now, Sphamandla faces a laundry list of charges related to the incident. Other than the two counts of murder, he has also been charged with one count of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, possession of an unlicensed firearm, pointing of a firearm, and firing a firearm in a municipal area, reports Sunday World.

The charge sheet was recently read out at Alexander magistrate’s court which also revealed that the businessman – whose real name is Bongani Pjazil Maocuana – has two more cases to his name. One case is reportedly linked to an incident that occurred at Soweto’s Konka nightclub while the other relates to a case about kidnapping and assault.

The above-mentioned publication further mentions that Sphamandla is linked to other cases involving extortion, and investigations are continuing.
