Big Brother Mzansi contestant Lindokuhle ‘Bravo B’ Nsele has released a statement following his disqualification from the popular reality series.

A street vendor from KwaZulu-Natal, Bravo B faced immediate eviction after he was recorded speaking to fellow contestant Tshepo ‘Makhekhe’ Tau and making comments about having sexual intercourse with female contestants Liyema ‘Liema’ Phantsi or Zinhle ‘Zee’ Mofokeng due to them having consumed alcohol.

Broadcasting company MultiChoice immediately released a statement regarding the matter. A portion of the statement read:

“We do not condone any acts that threaten the safety of the housemates on the show and we take Gender-Based Violence [GBV] very seriously … [Makhekhe] will face a reprimand from Big Brother with a social lesson on behaviour etiquettes.”

Bravo B released two statements of his own on Facebook via his management team.

In the first statement, it is said that Bravo B “deeply regrets the inappropriate language used during a casual, alcohol-fuelled discussion.” The statement also read, “Acknowledging the impact of his words, he wholeheartedly condemns any form of violence, including sexual assault. Sincere apologies are extended to anyone offended or hurt.”

In the second statement, Bravo B and his management team thanked the reality show “for providing [a] transformative platform and opportunity,” while again extending apologies to all affected or involved.

The statement also shared that the former contestant has the support from his family, which is said to serve as a testament to the fact that what occurred was not a true representation of Bravo B outside of the show.

Before closing the statement, the team also wished Makhekhe all the best for his future on Big Brother. “May this experience serve as a catalyst for positive change, and we hope you find success and growth in the journey ahead.”
