‘Worst government in the world’ – Dricus du Plessis on SA’s leadership

UFC middleweight champion Dricus du Plessis did not hold back any punches when describing the South African government.

When asked by American interviewer Nina Drama (before his Sunday match against America’s Sean Strickland) to describe the South African government, without a stutter, Dricus – who became the first African to win the middleweight title – stated that he would say it is the “worst government in the world by a longshot.”

The Pretoria-born fighter continued, “Nobody is going to compete with them. We are truly, exceptionally sh*t at being a government. To fix anything that they screwed up this far [will take] a lifetime. I mean, many great people are doing great work. I’m trying to save it, but our government is terrible. I have to say, I do admire the tenacity at which they screw up the country.”

When the interviewer stated that at least Cyril knows he is the president, compared to America’s president, Joe Biden, who publicly – and possibly unknowingly – displayed alleged acts of confusion during his term as president, Dricus responded, “Yes, that’s the problem. That’s why they take all the money … He [Cyril] forgets it [the money] everywhere so that he can get it back.”

Reiterating his stance on the ANC-led country, Dricus concluded, “Our government is the most corrupt in the world; I’m 100 percent certain of that. Our country is amazing. It’s beautiful, the people are awesome, we just have a very sh*t government.”

If you want to argue with what was said here then you are part of the problem. Well done to the champ, @dricusduplessis for talking honestly about our government to the world. pic.twitter.com/ds8HOZ3dRh
