Song of the Year Khuzani gets handed 100k in competition

Popular Maskandi artist Khuzani Nkosikhona Innocent Mpungose popularly known as Khuzani was handed a R100k cheque by Ukhozi FM- a national radio station in Natal- for winning the song of the year competition.

Khuzani popularly known for his Maskandi’s hits won Song of the Year in 2023 for his song Umjojo Lowo featured Luve Dubazane.

The artist who made headlines last year, after a 24-year-old man was stabbed to death when he got involved in a heated argument about Khuzani’s winning the Ukhozi FM’s Song of the Year. The confusion amongst followers left many people arguing and trying to figure out how the station came about their decision.

The musician is shown accepting the cheque from the popular station’s patrons and expressing his delight.

A commenter on X (formerly Twitter) even went on to accusing the Maskandi artist of bribing the decision to pick him as the winner for this category.

People were not happy about this decision as they felt that the station was biased towards this artist given that he is from KwaZulu-Natal.

Truth is Ukhozi FM doesn’t want this award to leave this province.

Another commenter opposed a question to other commenter to ask which song, citing that they were not sure about the stations decision and how the artist was picked.
