As we near the back-to-school days, many parents and school attendees are now beginning to fill up malls and stationery shops in search of the requirements needed for the next grade.

For those who have walked this path for several years, it comes as no surprise as to how extensive these lists and how expensive these basic requirements are. As we conclude the long and fun summer holidays, parents often brace themselves with the expenses, duties and responsibilities that come with having a child in school.

One of 2023’s biggest viral social media sensations, a KwaZulu-Natal based young scholar who rose to prominence after a TikTok video of her leading a song with her classmates went viral has been the talk of the country since then.

Naledi Aphiwe Myongwane surprised many when her TikTok video and powerful voice led her a feature with the globally renowned US singer, Chris Brown.

The young star has taken to social media to share how proud she is of being able to sort out not only her back-to-school stationery requirements but also that of her siblings.

She took to Instagram to share an image of all the back-to-school necessities she had bought.

Expressing the pride of her achievement, she captioned her post “nothing feels good than seeing my self estolo buying myself neyngane zasekhaya ezincane school things with my money. I’m not trying to brag about this but I’m so proud of myself I’m now a grown girl neh ?❤️???”
