Smangele Mhlongo is a figure who gained prominence after her realty show Kwa Njomane.

The reality show showcased the lives of the Njomane family which included the gobela and head of the family, Smangele alongside her children and sister. According to Sunday World – South African news publication-  many viewers found the show quite enthralling as it explored their unorthodox way of living, displaying their “exploration of love, taboo lives, and extraordinary spiritual encounters.”

As many viewers may have seen, Smangele is quite a popular gobela. She was also considered as one of KwaZulu-Natal’s top female sangomas as she was received a nomination in the Women in Traditional Healing at the Sebenza Woman Awards.

The hilarious social media sensation also became prominent after her TikTok video went viral. In the video she is heard yelling “kancane kance uyavela.” Since then, the phrase has gone viral and began being used by many other people.
