Former The Real Housewives of Durban star Nonkanyiso ‘LaConco’ Conco recently shared that she was “triggered” by Hollywood actress Lupita Nyong’o’s pain after she shared the news of her breakup.

Lupita was in a relationship with Selema Masekela, son of the late South African music legend, Hugh Masekela, becoming Instagram official in December last year.

Sharing her truth on Instagram, the Black Panther star stated that she finds herself “in a season of heartbreak because of a love suddenly and devastatingly extinguished by deception.” While tempted to run into the shadows and hide, Lupita explained that she will be facing the pain, “cultivating the courage to meet my life exactly as it is, and trusting that this too shall pass.”

Seeing Lupita’s post, LaConco headed to Instagram Stories to share the following:

“@lupitanyongo sharing her pain just triggered me how I’ve been silent about my ex and the pain he has caused us and still is.”

The TV presenter then shared two reasons for her silence on the matter. She wrote, “1. I know that giving God my pain is giving him his power over my life. 2. I’ve damn protected his dignity,” before adding, “Psalms 46 vs 5-10.”

LaConco was not specific as to who the ex causing the pain was. Although, she has been romantically linked to noteworthy political figures such as the former South African president Jacob Zuma, who is her ex-fiance and father to her child.
