5 Female DJ’s who are booked and busy

South African female deejays are taking up space, working tirelessly for their families while maintaining good brands that see them booked week in and week out both locally and internationally.

Previously dominated by men, the deejaying industry has since opened up leading to many aspiring females deejays venturing into the market.

As the industry keeps growing, it continues birthing new deejays who are bringing in a twist, while showcasing talent beyond the decks. While their are many female deejay’s doing very well in the country right now, we have selected five deejay’s who are booked and busy.

DJ Zinhle

It would be an injustice to mention South African female deejay’s and not have DJ Zinhle among the top names on the list. Possibly ranking among the highest paid deejays in the country, Zinhle has been a deejay for over a decade, later venturing into multiple successful businesses. She has also managed given Mzansi smashing hits such as Colours ft Tamara Dey, Thula ft Cici and many more. The successful mother of two has probably performed at all major venues in the country as she oftentimes would have multiple deejaying gigs in one day.

Lerato “LKG” Kganyago

Our globetrotter deejay who is always going on luxury holidays with her husband has also been a deejay for many years. The deejay who has many titles in her name, including former beauty queen, is a Metro FM radio show host, owns multiple businesses and pushing a successful deejay career.

DJ Cyndo

If you were born in the 1980’s to early 90’s you might remember DJ Cyndo’s hit songs Amerido, Ngisemathandweni, Yamnandinto, and many more. The KwaZulu- Natal born deejay was at some point releasing back-to-back hits, something she took a pause from for some time. Still a deejay who bags many events around KZN, DJ Cyndo’ name will always be counted among those who walked so that many could run.

Lamiez Holworthy

Metro FM radio host, deejay Lamiez is one deejay known and loved for her deejaying and stage presence. The mother of one often leaves the decks when deejaying to dance with her crowd, something her music lovers and fans seem to love. The tattooed lady as she calls herself, continues to enjoy a successful deejaying career, booked frequently for major events.

Cyan Boujee

She might have been mocked when she started her deejaying career, but social media influencer Honour Zuma (famously known as Cyan Boujee) has stuck to her love of music, making people dance to her deejaying sessions. Having performed at many venues locally and in our neighboring country Zimbabwe, Cyan is proof that ignoring the noise and feeding your focus should always be the goal.
