Netizens react to Mihlali appearing on ‘Unfollowed’

Media personality Mihlali Ndamase is the latest celebrity to appear on Showmax’s popular series Unfollowed, and many social media users are confused, to say the least.

Unfollowed – hosted by Thembisile Mrototo – is a show that spotlights cancel culture and social media through the real-life stories of media personalities. Previous guests include Lady Zamar, Phat Joe, Tol Ass Mo, Nonhle Thema, Zoe Mthiyane, and Ntsiki Mazwai.

Like the above-mentioned celebrity guests, Mihlali has made headlines, more so for her love life. It was recently reported that Mihlali’s partner Leeroy Sidambe had been “ordered” to pay spousal support to his ex-wife, who has accused Mihlali of ruining her marriage.

However, social media users do not feel that the media personality’s personal issues make her cancel-worthy.

Here is what they had to say:

Haibo when was Mihlali cancelled ??#unfollowed pic.twitter.com/ujmbx4MzaH

They are just interviewing anyone now. Mihlali is not canceled. He must interview the likes of Nambitha and Vathiswa who are canceled by the industry itself. We need to hear their stories, they need the platform to talk ‼️ https://t.co/j67nayOSky

Mihlali being on Showmax’s #Unfollowed makes no sense.

Whoever was the researcher for #Unfollowed did a terrible job with this episode, when was Mihlali canceled? By who?

— Marilyn Monroe (@ThandoPeaches) October 4, 2023

Mihlali might not be “cancelled” but she went through one of the most misogynistic smear campaigns fuelled by Musa Khawula on here. Not to mention y’all also say she fell off since being with Leeroy. So don’t act shocked that she’s on the show. #Unfollowed
