‘Thank you’ – DJ Maphorisa sends MDU aka TRP R100K

DJ Maphorisa showed Amapiano pioneer MDU aka TRP appreciation on social media while also sending the deejay R100,000.

MDU, whose real name is Mduduzi Mangena, is credited as one of the producers who made the signature Amapiano log drum sound popular.

Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter), DJ Maphorisa (real name Themba Sekowe) expressed his gratitude, writing, “Thank You Mdu AKA Trp for changing our lives with that LOG DRUM, forever be grateful mfanaka.”

He then encouraged other Amapiano artists to deposit R10,000 into MDU’s account as a way to thank him, while also stating that he and fellow deejay and producer Kabza De Small would send R100,000 each.

“Amapiano gang let’s please,” he concluded.

Sticking to his word, DJ Maphorisa returned to X to show social media users a screenshot of the R100,000 payment.

“Danko is Thank You MDU AKA TRP. If you want to send Mdu money, DM him for bank details please,” wrote the Ba Straata hitmaker.

Deejaying duo Major League DJz also took to X to share that they will be sending MDU 50,000 US Dollars (roughly R950,000).
