Singer, TV and radio personality Unathi Nkayi took sometime to iron out a few misconceptions that people have on her love for Laduma Ngxokolo’s MaXhosa clothing brand. Unathi probably owns almost all the different clothing ranges that the South African luxury brand has.

Taking to her social media to address the rumour that she is the brand ambassador for MaXhosa or that she gets a special discount Unathi recorded a video refuting the claims, in numbers one to five, the mother of two shared:

“Guyzini (guys) allow me to dispel a couple of rumours when it comes to mna (me) and MaXhosa.”

“No 1. I’ve never been their brand ambassador, and I’m not.”

“No 2. Everything I’ve have ever worn from MaXhosa I have bought, and I have paid for.”

” No 3. It gets very awkward when you guys arrive kwa (at) and you say you want the Unati prices I don’t have prices, I’ve never asked for a discount.”

“No 4. I can’t stop you from ukunyatsa (undermining) a local brand, a luxUry brand by the way. When you do so, when you’re saying  they’re too expensive or I’m getting clothes for free, or you want my discounts and you do so carrying your luxury French labels your Louis Vuitton, your Prada’s please do so and leave my name out of it, ningandifaki (don’t put me in it).”

“No 5. Okokugqibela, asilwi mos (lastly, we aren’t fighting, right)?”

Social media users commented on how good the MaXhosa brand is on the Wethembisile hitmaker, the shared:

“Lol ?? earlier today I saw the same video I didn’t hear a thing rather than ” when you look young but your hands says you too old ??? and when I saw your hands girl ?????????????.”

“Bathong (Oh my gosh). Unathi prices??, but on the real you wear the brand so well, I’m one of the people that thought you’re their brand ambassador ❤️.”

“I’ve never thought Sis Unsta is MaXhosa’s brand ambassador. The intention of the brand is strongly collateral to what she embodies and personifies, so it makes sense why she’s be so inlove with it.”
