If you are not sure how to pronounce Miss South Africa 2023 runner-up Bryoni Govender’s name, do not fret. The Miss Universe representative shared a video explaining how to do so.

Sharing a GRWM (Get Ready With Me) video on TikTok about what it was like to be called Miss SA’s first runner-up 2023, Bryoni first stated, “You guys are silly. When you don’t see a name that is ‘common,’ you guys freak out. So, I think I need to school y’all on how to pronounce my name properly.”

While applying foundation to her face, Bryoni says, “First, my name is Bryoni. Bry-o-ni. Bryoni, so simple. It’s unique, yes. Thank you. It’s so easy. You literally pronounce it the way you would read it.”

After sharing the pronunciation of her name, Bryoni went on to speak about the moment she was announced as Miss SA’s first runner-up.

“Everything after being announced was an absolute blur. When I look back at pictures and I see myself speaking to or hugging [someone]… I can’t remember anything!”

She continued, “But when Bonang announced me in the top two… I already felt like a winner. Being top two was absolutely amazing! Of course, I wanted to win, don’t get me wrong, but saying it and actually experiencing it was a little bit different.”
