The Kolisi family has finally arrived in Paris where they are set to start their lives after Siya Kolisi signed with a Paris based Racing 92.

Siya who is currently busy with the rugby World Cup preparation matches, could not move with the family leaving Rachel, Keziah and Nicholas to do this leg by by themselves. Older siblings Liyema and Liphelo also stayed behind as Liyema is in his first year at university and Liphelo in grade 10. Rachel mentioned that they did not want to disturb their studies, adding that they will visit frequently.

An anxious Rachel had the day before the trip mentioned how sad she was feeling after many goodbyes and farewells.

She shared;

“My heart is super heavy, moving is very very hard. I’m throwing all my faith in Jesus in this season. Thank you to those who have checked in, and showered us with love and kindness. We are so grateful.”

As they arrived in Paris, Rachel shared with her followers how her first day in Paris was. She started by promising her friends and social media users that she bore them with a post everyday, adding:

“Day 1! We had the kindest driver pick us up with fresh orange juice and chocolate croissants this morning. The kids slept well on the flight I only got about 2 hours in. Unpacked at our new home, and went for a walk to find some groceries, things I learnt today:”

“1. It seems as though the no aircon thing in Paris/France – is a thing! It’s hot, and we’ll need to find fans asap.”

Rachel added a bit of humour, sharing:

“2. The kids and I are going to learn how to say “where is the grocery store?” In French to save us another 2 hour walk ?.”

“3. We need to google what “chicken” is in French.”

Rachel was also excited that South African rooibos infused drink was available in Paris adding:

“4. @bosworld a proudly South African product is stocked in France.”

She also shared that they  were “going to need to work on our meal planning ?.”
