Celebs pay tribute to Teboho Mahlatsi

Since the announcement of Yizo Yizo creator Teboho Mahlatsi’s passing, many of his industry mates are continuing to mourn the award-winning commercials director and remembering his work.

The news of Teboho’s death was shared on behalf of the Mahlatsi family through comedian and filmmaker David Kau.

From actors and musicians to radio presenters, Teboho touched many people’s hearts.

Here are a few celebs who paid tribute to Teboho.

Actress and radio personality Bridget Masinga wrote, “Our last on-air catch up we spoke about so much; Bomb’s undeniable legacy, your ability to tell authentic stories and the mammoth task that lay ahead as you embarked on the journey to tell the greatest South African story ever told, Shaka! Teboho Mahlatsi, A Visionary.”

Actress and film director Mmabatho Montsho tweeted, “Devastating. Teboho gave us some of the most iconic moments in South African TV. A storytelling signature that marked a time… emulated to this day. You leave an undeniable mark. RIP. Ubegrand jo.”

Rapper Tumi Molekane, better known as Stogie T, reminisced about how Teboho and a few other people helped create a music video for one of his songs.

He ended his post by saying, “I have met so many of the people you put on and inspired good sir. I hope to make half the positive impact you made with your time here. I MET MY HERO. May your soul rest in peace and thank you.”

Director Thabang Moleya also paid his respects to the late film creative.
