It has been four months since the passing of the award-winning rapper Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes. His father Tony Forbes remembered his son by sharing lyrics from Jackson Browne’s For A Dancer.

AKA was shot to death alongside friend and celebrity chef Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motsoane while in Durban outside the restaurant Wish on Florida Road, which has permanently closed down since the deaths.

Tony took to Instagram to share the lyrics:

Dancing our sorrow away (right on dancing)
No matter what fate chooses to play (there’s nothing you can do about it anyway)
Just do the steps that you’ve been shown
By everyone you’ve ever known
Until the dance becomes your very own
No matter how close to yours
Another’s steps have grown
In the end there is one dance you’ll do alone

AKA’s mother, Lynn Forbes, responded to the post with a crying face emoji.

A fan commented, “This hurts… it cuts down straight to our souls imagine being just a super fan, how much more being family. How did we come so close to someone we haven’t even met.. seriously????.”

Another fan said, “Not easy to accept this dance uncle Tony ??. He should not be where he he is ??‍♀️! You guys deserve better than this . He deserves JUSTICE ✊?.”

“These lyrics are just so profound. Stay strong Uncle Tony. I know that’s easier said than done. I hope God continues to shelter your broken heart and spirit, for the rest of your life. ❤️❤️❤️,” said another fan.

Seeing all the responses, Tony commented, “Sorry did not mean to make you guys sad..I want you DANCE ?❤️.”
