“I don’t owe anybody anything” says Zandi Khumalo

by Bongiwe Mati
Zandie Khumalo

Zandile Khumalo Gumede had a one on one with eNCA where she spoke about her music, upcoming album and the Senzo Meyiwa murder case.

Zandi was among the people in the house when the Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates goal keeper was gunned down in 2014. Since then, the case has seen 5 suspects arrested and in trial.

Zandi, who is one of the witnesses currently taking a stand shared that she was under oath, and could not say much, but added;

“People had so much to say, they had their own opinions, of which obviously they are entitled to that. There’s not much I can say …., my family and I have been, there’s no platform we haven’t been to trying to explain exactly what happened but it seems like they choose what to listen to and they make their own decisions so in that way I was like, I don’t owe anybody anything right now because they’ve had their chance and now the only people that I need to testify to is actually the courts whether there’s a camera there on not, hey.. I’m just there to testify. ”

Social media users shared their thought on the video clips shared by the broadcaster;

“Live on eNCA, Zandi Khumalo shows her face on TV as she discuss her Senzo Meyiwa testimony while promoting her single? She filed an application barring the media from broadcasting her testimony saying she fears being ridiculed.”

“I thought she didn’t want to be on tv. And as I see her parading herself and dodging questions so arrogantly to me, I think of that video of Senzo’s mum wailing and begging for this trial to be over and done with. The wheels of justice don’t turn at all it seems to me.”
