Former Generations actress and TV producer Sonia Mbele reportedly spent almost two weeks in hospital due to exhaustion.

According to ZiMoja, The Real Housewives of Johannesburg producer landed in the hospital due to anxiety, stress and being overworked, and was discharged two days before the reality show’s premiere party, which took place at the Marriott Hotel in Melrose Arch.

The proud mother of four confirmed her admission to the hospital to ZiMoja. She said, “I take my work seriously, however, overworking and breaks in between proved to be overwhelming.”

A close friend told the publication above that Sonia also suffered from dizzy spells. “She was lightheaded and kept looking balanced but we took it lightly.” Sonia soon collapsed. Fortunately, she was working from home that day and her mother and helper were there to assist her, adds the friend.

Another source told ZiMoja that Sonia also suffered from severe anxiety and was panicking about the execution of the reality show’s launch. Her anxiety became even worse after losing The Real Housewives of Johannesburg two years ago.

Said the source, “Sonia has a strong team consisting of young women that she is also mentoring. Luckily they were also on her side in planning the event. Thanks to technology, most of the planning was done. On the day of the event, one could have sworn the event was put together by an army of event planners as nothing was out of line.”

Sonia had even posted about how perfect the night was.

After the event, Sonia reportedly went upstairs to her room to get some rest.

ZiMoja also notes that the actress asked her doctor to discharge her a day before the premiere, as eyebrows would have been raised regarding her absence. “She did not want the launch to be about her, hence she left immediately after the event,” the source added.
