Emtee possibly returning to Ambitiouz Entertainment

Rapper Mthembeni Ndevu, popularly known as Emtee, is said to be in talks with Ambitiouz Entertainment about possibly returning to the controversial record label.

Previously, Ambitiouz Entertainment was reported to have had a legal dispute with its former artist Malome Vector over the song Ya Costa. They have also parted ways with many other artists such as Sjava, Saudi, Amanda Black, Fifi Cooper, Intaba YaseDubai and Blaq Diamond, to name a few.

Back in 2019, Emtee had written a series of subliminal tweets referring to the label, along with the hashtag #FreeEmtee. After leaving Ambitiouz Entertainment, the rapper went on to launch his own record label, Emtee Records.

The Roll Up rapper had also openly aired his frustrations with the label about overworking himself, working six gigs in one night for a standard salary, reports ZiMoja.

However, the past is not stopping Emtee from his possible future with Ambitiouz.

ZiMoja reveals that an insider mentioned Emtee contacted Ambitiouz to make amends. Said the source, “They are in talks about having him back at the label, but nothing has been concluded.” The source also stated that the label is not desperate, and that they are still staying afloat, despite the negative publicity. “The talks have been happening, but nothing has been concluded on whether Emtee will be working with them again.”

Kgosi Mahumapelo, the founder of Ambitiouz Entertainment told ZiMoja that the company has always had a “cordial and respectful relationship behind closed doors” with Emtee, “despite what has been perceived publicly.” He added that claims of possible meetings between the two parties would not be surprising.

“Emtee is a successful businessman in his own right and claims that he seeks to relive the success or to join hands with the team that was responsible for his highest level of success might not be far-fetched,” said Kgosi.

“But since every possible negotiation is protected by confidentiality, we choose neither to deny nor confirm the rumours.”
