Zoleka was first diagnosed with breast cancer on 15 March 2016 and she was re-diagnosed in April 2016 with Luminal Type B Breast Cancer.

In September of the same year, she was then diagnosed with stage 4 cancer which was said to affect her bones, liver, and lungs.

While speaking during an interview on Kaya FM’s Point of View show with Phemelo Motene, the author opened up about her ongoing battle with cancer.

She reportedly got candid about the planning for her death.  She said that she’s met with family, a lawyer and a therapist to discuss life after her death.

“It will probably sound strange but, I think I am blessed or fortunate enough to be in a position where I am in my planning stages. I am having conversations with my loved ones, lawyer, therapist, and siblings to discuss what happens on the day and after I pass away,” she said while speaking to Phemelo.
