This is how you should apply your perfume

Do you spritz your luxury fragrance here, there and everywhere in between? If your answer is yes, how about switching it up for a change?

To achieve a long-lasting scent, it is less about the amount of perfume you use, and more about spritzing the right parts of your body at the right time in your beauty routine, explains Vogue India. You do not want your perfume to invade the nostrils of every single person you pass, leaving them gasping for air.

To help with such a dilemma, the publication provides 4 simple tips that will make your scent last longer.

  1. Apply your cream before spritzing: Spraying your perfume on dry skin would be all for naught. Once you have applied your cream, spray the fragrance on your wrists, bends of the arms, neck and earlobes.
  2. Apply perfume directly after showering: Your eau de parfum intensively unfolds when applied directly onto your slightly damp and warm skin.
  3. Spray your belly button: As funny as it may sound, this trick actually works. As it is located in the middle of your body, it heats up strongly, allowing the fragrance to unfold. The fact that your belly button is covered by clothing most of the time is a plus, as it ensures that the fragrance molecules do not evaporate quickly.
  4. Avoid spraying normal perfume on your hair: The high alcohol content in conventional perfumes ultimately dries out your hair. Opt for a special hair perfume with less alcohol and protects your hair from moisture loss.
