Actress Sikelelwa Vuyeleni has bagged a role on 1Magic’s new series titled 1802 Love Defies Time.

According to Sunday World, the new series which is set to premiere on the 1 of May 2023 on 1Magic at 8:30pm, tells a love story told in isiXhosa. It follows two star-crossed lovers as they travel through life in search of their destiny.

The publication further reported that the actress has been cast as Khosi, who accepted Zuko’s proposal of marriage and started her career as an intern doctor, but she does not realise that her fate has already been decided for.

“The impossible situation of the two lovers adds to the tension and conflict, making the series an exciting love story,” Sunday World reported.

In the drama series, Khosi goes back in time to the 1800s, where the world is led by the Jola royal family, and by King Jonginamba KaMajola, Melisizwe’s father, who has three wives.

According to the publication, the first wife of the King is MamCwerha, who is a strong and ferocious woman that will do anything to protect her son Longamo, whom she believes is the rightful heir to the throne.

The second wife of the King is MamThembu, who is the King’s favourite along with their son Melisizwe.

As for the third wife, MaMpinga, who is the youngest wife to the King does not really get involved into the family drama.

The former House of Zwide actress took to her Instagram timeline to announce the exciting news, captioning the post:

“A MOMENT FOR GOD. An opportunity to give God the glory for all He has given me. May this journey continue to glorify Him. I am on my knees with gratitude.”
