How you can celebrate your birthday in January

Most people would say celebrating a milestone in January is a miss, but little do they know that you can still do so on a budget.

Firstly, how exciting is it to know you share a birthday month with TV personality living legend, Oprah Winfrey and Boxing champion Muhammad Ali.

There are people who master organising monumental events on a small budget and make them look amazing. They get this right by reusing items they already have in their household or left-over decorations from previous parties.

According to Peerspace, here are some ideas of what you can do on your January birthday:

  1. You can throw a DIY recipe cocktail party with finger food.
  2. A baking party, allow your friends to make their own dough and decorations.
  3. Through a theme golden oldies party, this is easier to do because it’s colorful and you can use anything at your disposal.
  4. Karaoke is always a fan favorite, after a few shots everyone will be rushing to the mic.
  5. DIY Spa day, where you can do each other’s nails, massages and facials.
  6. You can have a modeling contest using clothes from your closet.

For a solo birthday celebration, it’s good to know that you can go to some government owned tourism destinations. For example, go on a City Sightseeing bus tour or go to Table Mountain on a cable car on your birthday for free. You can only use selected websites to register and bring your proof of identity on your trip.
