Dressing up for Christmas has always been a part of our festivities, every child wants to look beautiful and wear new clothes on 16 December, 25 December and on the 1st of January every year. This has been a norm in many households that every child has to have at least three new outfits in December.

However, times have changed and “are your kids wearing Christmas clothes this year” has been a frequently asked question. An argument that has been made is that Christmas is not the same anymore. In previous years children used to wear almost the same clothes all around the country as if there was Christmas theme that everyone knew about. There was a time when South African kids of all ages were wearing military styled clothing. This was an exciting time for many children.

Even though it is no longer how it used to be, parents are still trying to find the latest trends so that they can dress their children in the most trending looks for Christmas. Today, parents are able to find out what the new trends are through various social media groups.

According to a Facebook group of advice for women, it seems that children are wearing the new trendy jeans with cartoons and emojis on them. Some mothers argue that parents should not buy into the latest fashion trends as these trends often die down quickly, leaving many children wanting the next fashionable trend.

But unfortunately it doesn’t look like you will see the same natural looks as before, this Christmas you will see a lot of kids wearing makeup.
