Relebogile Mabotja wins her first radio award

Media personality Relebogile Mabotja has won her first radio award. The star won the best news reader commercial award at the SA Radio Awards. The awards to recognise and acknowledge outstanding achievements in the South African radio industry.

The awards announced the exciting news on social media ss a result of the COVID-19 lockdown, Arena Events – organisers of The Radio Awards made the decision to host the 2020 winners announcements in an online format. In previous years, winners were announced at a high energy, glamourous gala dinner in Sandton.

Relebogile reacted to the news saying in part; “I dedicate this award to anyone who has taken an opportunity and made magic with it!!! I hope my story can inspire you wherever you are! Anything is possible!!! Thank you!!!“

I started reading the news 29 April 2019 at Metro FM. I had never done it in my life. It was never my dream but the opportunity presented itself and I took it on with everything in me. I had the help and support of fellow newsreaders and team mates @znyuswa @melzinbala @aureliekalenga @pearlshongwe @thembimrototo @nompumelelo_ngubeni and @angiekhumalo.
