Actress Meagan Good shared the 3 keys for a successful marriage on Grace Byers‘ Youtube show, Sit + Sip Series. The star who’s been married to her husband, DeVon Franklin, for seven years revealed that they both decided to create their own rules in their marriage.

Meagan shared in part: “Making our own rules. I think that people tend to say this the woman’s role, this is the man’s role, this is the way it should be. And I don’t believe in that and Devon doesn’t believe in that which is great.”
She continued: “It’s really about what do we want our roles to be. How do we create them in our world the way that makes us happy and makes us both look good. So, I think no rules, or rather creating your own within your marriage that work for you and your marriage.”
Meagan also added that couples shouldn’t try to change each other. She said in part: “Don’t try to change each other. That’s a big thing, you really really have to love someone for who they are and love the fullness of them.” She added: “Loving them in their enitirety allows the other person an opportunity to grow.”
On the importance of having fun she said: “It’s really important to have fun together. It’s really important to stay connected and make each other a priority.”
