Music, television, and fashion are just some of the things which Sho Madjozi has been involved in ever since breaking into the commercial entertainment scene. From winning awards, performing all over the world and recently releasing her first album ‘Limpopo Champions League‘, Sho Madjozi doesn’t seem as though she’ll be slowing down anytime soon.

2. Fela Gucci & Desire Marea

Fela Gucci and Desire Marea are a duo who created FAKA an expansive collaboration which extends to photography, performance art, and sound amongst other things. Their debut EP titled ‘Bottoms Revenge’ was released in 2016. They followed their EP up with another EP titled ‘Amaqhawe’ which is a sophmore trilogy which explores the intricacies of love and romance within the black queer experience.

Trans activist Glow was born in Ficksburg, in the Free State, where she got involved in various professions such as working as a fashion stylist and copywriter for an advertising agency. Glow documents her journey of being trans in South Africa and pushing representation on her YouTube channel.

Born in Cape Town, Western Cape, Rapper Dope Saint Jude is using her music to address issues of societal expectations, self-worth, and sexuality. She released her self-produced EP ‘Reimagine’ in 2018, her sound combines elements of US and UK rap. Her style is a well-refined style which is not only versatile but can be switched up from formal wear to casual wear depending on the occasion, which she hopes reflects her authentic self.
