Pitso Mosimane is set to be without key Bafana Bafana midfielder Teboho Mokoena for tomorrow’s crucial Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Eritrea.
Bafana face the Red Sea Camels at the Al-Salam Stadium in Cairo on Wednesday evening in matchday two of the 2027 AFCON qualifiers.
According to the latest reports, Mosimane will have to make do without the hard-running Mamelodi Sundowns star for Wednesday’s encounter.
Teboho Mokoena ruled out of next Bafana match
According to Soccerbeat, Teboho Mokoena picked up an injury during the latter stages of South Africa’s 2-1 victory against Guinea at the Orlando Stadium over the weekend.
Mokoena, who has been a regular for Bafana Bafana over the past few years, will miss out on the Eritrea match after scans confirmed his injury.

In total, Mokoena has over 50 appearances for the national team. He has registered 10 goals for Bafana while assisting three more.
While his absence will be a major blow, Mosimane has quality cover available in Bathusi Aubaas, who can easily slot in for him.
Bafana are due to face Eritrea at 18:00 SAST on Wednesday. The match will be televised live on SABC 2. A victory for Pitso Mosimane’s side will put them in firm control of Group D, with six points from their opening two matches.
