Within a matter of a few days, another e-hailing service platform called InDrive made headlines after one of its drivers robbed and sexually assaulted a female passenger.
As per reports by Women for Change– a social media account that advocates for women’s rights- states that a 21-year-old woman was allegedly raped and robbed of her belongings recently after requesting InDrive to be dropped off at her destination in Bellville but to her surprise whilst in the car a man came out off the back seat and pointed a firearm at her.
The above-mentioned source also reported after this gruesome attack they drove her around for hours even demanding a ransom that they never got causing her to be dropped off in Kraaifontein. This case is also under investigation as two suspects were later arrested.
This would not be the first time that women have complained about e-hailing services assaulting them in any way as after the recent Bolt stabbing incident many users encouraged others to delete the app and look for other alternative means of transport.
Women are not safe from danger as these drivers continue to harass them even causing the Bolt app to argue passengers to avoid seating in front.

InDrive had this to say amid the allegations causing quite a stir on X (previously known as Twitter) as users felt that their response is always the same regardless of the situation.
