A university student mother had to make the ultimate sacrifice of leaving her toddler behind to return to school. However, the little boy was not having any of it.

A video shared to TikTok by @simmy.dlamini1 – which has since garnered over 270,000 views – showed the young student mother packed and ready to go, suitcase in tow. Waving goodbye to her son, the toddler then airs his frustration through cries over the farewells, showing that he wants to be consoled by nobody else but his mama.

Many TikTok users in the comment section felt that they related to what @simmy.dlamini1 was going through, with one TikTok user saying:

“Yoh this used to break my heart, having to leave my son for uni and I did the same today and this time it’s for work… it doesn’t get any easier ?.”

Others felt the video pulling on their heartstrings:

“There is nothing as painful as this ?? I just cry.”

“I even cried ??.. he so cute❤.”

“I would cry, sit down and unpack, this is so precious ?❤️.”

“Why am I saddened by this ??❤️.”

While one social media user joked that the mother put her bundle of joy in her suitcase as a way to take her son with her to university, another could not help but to laugh at the little boy’s demands:

“He is demanding that you stay ????? calling you ‘mama’ so viciously ?.”
